CGPA Calculator

Find your Cumulative Grade Point Average. Enter each semester's SGPA — add credits too if your semesters differ in credits.

CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) is your overall grade-point average across every semester. When each semester carries the same credits, CGPA is the average of your semester SGPAs; when credits differ, each SGPA is weighted by that semester's credits. Enter your SGPAs above (and credits if needed).

How to calculate CGPA

CGPA = (SGPA₁ + SGPA₂ + … + SGPAₙ) ÷ n  (equal credits)
CGPA = Σ(SGPA × credits) ÷ Σ(credits)  (weighted)
Semester SGPAsCGPA
8.0, 8.48.20
8.2, 7.8, 8.5, 9.08.38
7.5, 8.0, 8.2, 8.6, 9.0, 8.78.33

Worked example

Four semesters at 8.2, 7.8, 8.5 and 9.0 (equal credits): (8.2+7.8+8.5+9.0) ÷ 4 = 8.38 CGPA. As a CBSE-style percentage: 8.38 × 9.5 = 79.56%.

CGPA to percentage

Many Indian boards and universities convert CGPA to a percentage by multiplying by 9.5 (the CBSE rule), though some use a different factor. Use our CGPA to percentage calculator for your specific board.
